Our 22-acre Sage Vineyard estate, perched atop Mount Veeder, is comprised of 30 distinct vineyard blocks of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, each shaped by unique soils, water availability, and sun exposure. Modeled to compete with the finest blends from France, Tuscany, and beyond—and produced only in select vintages—these wines are powerful yet polished, uniquely site- and vintage-expressive, and defined by the complex aromas and flavors of their varietals and hillside origins.
Tasting Notes
The 2023 vintage opens with dark, mountain-driven aromatics of wild blackberry, blueberry, and brambleberry, layered with forest floor, scorched earth, and savory notes of dried fennel and olive.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet poised, with a vertical profile and a concentrated core of dark fruit accented by pomegranate. Fine-grained tannins provide structure without heaviness, carrying the wine through a long, composed finish that will continue to broaden with age. This vintage emphasizes precision and restraint, offering a serious, site-driven expression that rewards both patience and contemplation.

"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2023 Red Blend Sage Vineyard prances out with showy notes of kirsch, black raspberries, and fresh black currants, giving way to nuances of violets, pencil shavings, and fallen leaves with an earthy touch of tree moss. The full-bodied palate delivers a firm frame of ripe, fine-grained tannins and great tension to support the intense red and black fruit layers, finishing long and fragrant."
