February 4th: BBC World News featured Darioush in The Secret History of Shiraz Wine

The documentary explores the origin, history, myths and legends of the Shiraz/Syrah grape from the Ancient World through the Old World to the New World.

Before the Iranian Revolution, the city of Shiraz was at the heart of a thriving wine-making industry. The name Shiraz is now associated with some of the world's most famous wines. But what connection if any is there between the Shiraz we drink today and Iran? BBC journalist and wine expert Anahita Shams goes on a fascinating journey of discovery, from the Neolithic wine makers of Georgia to the courts of the Persian Shahs. She follows a Persian legend to France, an old vine's tale to Hungary, studies old documents to understand the Australian Shiraz connection and explores Shiraz winemaking at Darioush in California’s Napa Valley.
