"Lots of intense blueberry character, with flowers, berries, and hints of vanilla bean on the nose. Full bodied, with a solid core of fruit and medium-chewy tannins. Powerful, but not jammy. Give it two to three years. Bit of a fruit bomb." -- James Suckling

 The Wine Advocate

An innovative blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 Duel is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Shiraz. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet kiss of blackberries, cassis, pepper and subtle spice. Medium-bodied with silky tannins, a seductive style, and a good succulence as well as flesh, it should drink well for 7-8 years.

 The Wine Advocate

"Made from an identical blend, the 2007 Duel reveals a slightly deeper ruby/purple color in addition to more blueberry, blackberry, and forest floor aromas. The wine is medium to full-bodied, richer and more opulent than the 2006, with a deeper intensity to the fruit. Very pure, with burgeoning complexity as well as lots of character/personality, it, too, should drink well for 7-8 years." – Robert Parker

   WA Issue #192 (December 2010)

"The dense purple-hued 2008 Shiraz Signature reveals a beautiful nose of spring flowers intermixed with blueberries, blackberries, spice and incense. Glorious richness, full-bodied opulence and a majestic, long finish result in one of the best Napa Valley Syrahs money can buy.  It should drink well for 6-10 years.  This offering must be of some personal satisfaction for proprietor Darioush Khaledi since the Shiraz grape’s origin emanates from the ancient Persian empire." - Robert Parker
