Robb Report's Best of the Best 2014: Domestic White Wines: Darioush 2012 Signature Viognier
"The Darioush winery on Napa Valley’s Silverado Trail is utterly unique, and not only for of its architecture, which combines a romantic vision of the ancient Persian capital of Persepolis with the streamlined, steel-and-glass vernacular of a contemporary nightclub. These elements reflect the multifaceted personality of the winery’s owner, Darioush Khaledi, a longtime wine enthusiast and collector who emigrated to the United States in the late 1970s from the Shiraz region of Iran. Khaledi’s blending of cultures and tradition with innovative thinking influences not only the building but also the character of the wines, which are classically structured yet extravagant in their flourishes. The Darioush 2012 Signature Viognier, for example, is perfumed with mimosa, tangerine blossom, and lemongrass, and its fleshy texture complements its flavors of pear, peach, honeycomb, and candied ginger. Still, this riotous array of sensations combines on the finish to strike a sustained and satisfying chord of gentle acidity." — Brett Anderson (www.robbreport.com)
2011 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon | Rated 91
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - April 2014
"Solidly built, deep in keen Cabernet fruit and decked out with the lavish oak that its maker most always favors, this very rich, impressively concentrated working beats the poor odds of the vintage and succeeds handsomely in a harvest where not nearly enough do. It is full and fleshy and slightly supple in feel with a good spine of comparatively fine tannins, and, if already showy and not a brooding wine that needs to be hidden away for a decade or two, it has enormous potential and is guaranteed to reward six to eight years of keeping."

Highly Recommended: 2010 Darioush Signature Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
"Intense, concentrated black fruits, with mocha, cardamom and nutmeg spice. Full-bodied, suave and concentrated, with powerful yet supple tannins. This is a big bold style with good structure. Drink 2014 - 2030"
2010 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon | Rated 90
WA #209 (Oct 2013)
"The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is the deepest, richest, fullest wine of this trio. It displays lots of creme de cassis, smoke and meaty characteristics in its pure, beautifully textured, long personality. It should drink well for 10-15 years." - Robert Parker
2010 Signature Shiraz | Rated 91
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - July 2013
"Here is a wine over which fans of hedonistic Syrahs are certain to swoon, and it is most assuredly anything but dainty. Its very ripe, broadly spicy, oak-enriched aromas literally blow from the glass, and its extravagant, highly concentrated flavors of dark berries, smoked meat, chocolate and caramel follow closely in measure and kind. There is no getting around the fact that it is a very big wine and one whose ample tannins need no fewer than five or six years of smoothing, but it is as deeply fruited as it is complex and powerful, and it is much more than a simple exercise in unrestrained ripeness."
