Darius II Cabernet Sauvignon
2009 Vintage ~ Napa Valley

Darioush Distinction
The Crown Jewel of the Darioush estate, Darius II Cabernet Sauvignon is hand-selected from several barrel lots that possess exquisite beauty and purity of character. Grown from our Southern Napa Valley and Mount Veeder estates, the benchmark of Darius II is its rich, regal style. Darius II is a deeply personal endeavor, produced on behalf of our most enthusiastic collectors and friends.

Tasting Notes
Gracefully composed, 2009 Darius II expresses itself with sophistication and style, the result of a cooler vintage that produced richly-fruited, elegant wines. Velvety, smooth and seamless in the mouth, blueberry and cocoa flavors mingle with exotic spices, anise and outgoing floral aromatics of violets and lavender. The underlying structure and complexity from ripe, muscular tannins is ultimately revealed in a long, tenacious finish.

The Label

Intricate, symbol-laden Persian ceramics florished in the city of Isfahan in the 17th century, with craftsmen passing their closely guarded techniques down through the generations. In ancient Persian mythology, birds symbolized the union of heaven and earth, as well as a human desire for freedom. Tile artists used vibrant colors to portray emotion over realism, with bright yellow signifying the power and life-giving energy of the sun.
