Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon: Vertical Collection

Our limited series Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon is the fortuitous result of experimental winemaking endeavors within the varied topography of Napa Valley’s southernmost growing region, Mount Veeder. Evidenced in our dedication to farming our Sage estate perched at 1800 feet, Mount Veeder is an AVA we deeply admire. The most temperate of the Napa Valley hillside appellations, it’s cool marine-influence lent by the nearby San Pablo Bay, moderate sun exposure, ancient soil composition and high elevation all combine to support gradual ripening and flavor development in the Bordeaux varieties destined for Darioush Signature Cabernet Sauvignon and Darius II.

This singular Cabernet Sauvignon is exclusively grown in the Mount Veeder AVA. Influenced by the unique terroir of the steep, rocky Sage estate along with neighboring sites, these three vintages of Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon deliver a spectrum of richly concentrated black fruits bound by a deep, earthy core.

On entry, chewy blackberry, plum and licorice are tethered by notes of freshly tilled earth, pine and dusty cocoa. For all its density and largesse, the wines are lifted by notes of dried citrus and savory herbs.
