Dan de Polo believes that a reputation is earned as much by distinctiveness as it is with consistency and trust. Establishing an internationally acclaimed wine estate takes tremendous commitment, as well as risk, over a period of decades to be celebrated for being authentic, unique and exceptional. In 2004, Darioush turned to Dan de Polo for his multifaceted perspective across many disciplines to lead the winery into its first decade of existence.
With a degree in design and architecture from UC Berkeley and later a M.B.A. from the University of Oregon, his diverse background spans hospitality, management and sales with Nordstrom and strategic planning in investment management and wine marketing. Inspired by similarly innovative design and service-oriented properties, Dan has brought together a diverse team of individuals to implement the Darioush philosophy, building a novel and financially sustainable winery model that focused on the interests of the contemporary wine collector.
