2009 Darioush Signature Shiraz * Napa Valley
Crafted to balance the fruit complexity, structure and age-worthiness of this ancient varietal, Darioush Signature Shiraz continues to demonstrate the remarkable potential of our cool vineyard site in Southern Napa Valley. Grown from a combination of both old-vine Australian Shiraz and Northern Rhone clones, the finished wine stays true to its inherently spicy and seductive spirit. |

Tasting Notes:
A deep inky-purple color and sumptuous aromas of black fruits, exotic spices and earth introduce the 2009 Signature Shiraz as a purely seductive and profoundly unique offering. More serious than prior vintages, this wines dense and texturally complex nature is reminiscent of a young, ripe Côte-Rôtie— offering up flavors of black licorice, blueberry and earthy-sumac spice alongside camphor and bittersweet cocoa. The noble tannins are ripe, rich and granular, promising poise and complexity over time. A long, persistent finish unveils enticing notes of dried orange peel, pain grillé and white pepper.
